The Small Museum Association is an all-volunteer organization serving small museums in the mid-Atlantic region and beyond.
The Conference Committee is a working committee. With support from the Board of Directors, we manage the planning and execution of SMA's annual conference. This is an opportunity to work with a great team, network with museums professionals, and give back to the field. Committee members receive free conference registration and hotel stay. The Small Museum Association is always seeking qualified Conference Committee volunteers.
SMA's mission is to develop and maintain a peer network among people who work for small museums, giving them opportunities to learn, share knowledge, and support one another, so that they, in turn, can better serve their institutions, communities, and profession.

About the Conferenc
The annual SMA conference attracts more than 300 museum professionals, board members, and volunteers from a wide variety of small museums. They attend sessions on topics ranging from collections and education to staffing and board issues. We offer a large Museum Resource Hall and plenty of informal networking opportunities for you to talk with (and get ideas from!) other small museum professionals and volunteers.
