Our museum features more than 1,000 objects on display in 15 permanent and rotating exhibition galleries. Our library houses 7 million books, documents, manuscripts, and photographs available for research and scholarship.

A National Historic Landmark, Mount Clare is a Georgian mansion built in 1760 by Charles Carroll, Barrister. Mount Clare houses an impressive collection of 18th and early 19th century furnishings and decorative arts belonging to the Barrister, his wife, Margaret Tilghman Carroll, and their heirs. Located just 5 minutes from Baltimore's Inner Harbor. Free parking.

Founded on October 24, 1984 by Chief Judge James F. Schneider, U.S. Bankruptcy Court for Maryland, and Philip Sherman, Chair of the MSBA Senior Lawyers Section, the museum is filled with historical artifacts of Baltimore’s Bench and Bar. Managed by the nonprofit Baltimore Courthouse and Law Museum Foundation, Inc., the museum features a self-guided walk-through tour.
