Foster Tanner Fine Arts Gallery

The Foster Tanner Fine Arts Gallery has a long and distinguished history of service to areas of visual arts and art education as well as the entire Florida A&M University community and the citizens of the State of Florida. Its purpose as an exhibition space is to serve as a rich collaborative resource for on-going classroom research, reports, events and dialogue for university-wide classes, organizations, and other cultural activities and departmental activities across the campus.

Founded 1950; 9000 sq. ft. of exhibition space; permanent collection of around 6000 objects; Accredited by AAM August 2003 and 2012. Exhibitions include scholarly presentations and work of regional artists and students.

The mission of the John Gilmore Riley Center/ Museum of African-American History and Culture is to restore and preserve the Riley House and its collections, and to research and interpret materials related to African-American history in Tallahassee and the State of Florida.
