Tuscarora Academy Museum

Description

County museum containing artifacts of Juniata County life is located in the only remaining building of the Tuscarora Academy, the first secondary school in Juniata County. The Academy was a Presbyterian school which educaated young men for business and church vocations. Two rooms in the museum are arranged as dormortory rooms of the time period of the Academy. Other exhibits show artifacts of rural Pennsylvania life of 100+ years ago.

clothing, uniforms, arrowheads, farm equipment and implements, furniture, paintings by local artists, dishes, sewing machines, spinning wheels, fire equipment, a county doctor's office of the early 20th century
