Art and culture are integral forces of development. Recognizing the contribution of art and culture to social cohesion and economic development, the World Bank's Art Program is formally charged with managing the institution's art collection and promoting contemporary art from its member nations. The Art Program makes particular effort to draw awareness to artists from developing countries. This is accomplished through acquisitions, exhibition displays at the work space, site specific installations, artists' projects, publications, and educational and cultural partnerships.
