The Muir Experience Museum

Description

The museum is located in the William Knox Holt Library on the University of the Pacific, Stockton campus. It is in the Library on the main floor. It is called the Muir Experience and is mainly digital, though the archives have many of John Muir's original papers.

The University of the Pacific curates and shares the largest collection of Muir's writings in the world. This is an excellent place to read from his essays, journals, and correspondence to decide for yourself the meaning of his words. Here is a selection of his work with some interpretation. His entire collection is available for research on-site or online.

It contains most of John Muir's personal library, his papers, and other documents relating to his life.
