Description

Opened in 2008, originally located at the Jung Brewery bottling house, until March of 2012 the museum includes permanent exhibits of local history as well as featured exhibits each month. The museum is now located at 111 Carroll street, Random Lake, Wisconsin, in the original 1932 Beger IGA grocery store building! This building was purchased in December of 2012, extensively remodeled with the help of volunteers during 2013 ​and early 2014. Our grand opening dedication was held June 1, 2014.

The museum will be open from 8:00 am to 11:30 am Tuesday - Friday. Unless otherwise indicated. Enter through Kathy's 111 Trackside Cafe at 111 Carroll Street in Random Lake, WI. In addition, special museum programs are offered as noted on the "Events" schedule. Mission
Preserving the Past for the Future

The purpose of the Random Lake Area Historical Society, Inc, founded in 1998; is to collect, preserve and share the history of Random Lake and the surrounding communities.

Artifact Collections

Local artist oil paintings, chalk drawings, sculpture.

The society encourages the public to loan items related to the monthly themes. The society further invites these individuals to share the history and stories of these objects. Permanent donations become property of the Random Lake Area Historical Society to use at their discretion, for viewing.

Programs

Moving towards the mission’s goal, efforts include the honor of a State of Wisconsin Historical Site location, museum with permanent exhibits of local history as well as featured exhibits and ongoing educational programs and events for all ages.

Children's corner during special events. School and public tours of our 1865 Historic Nowack House during summer hours or by appointment. Guided tours with docents of our museum for school or adult groups. Over 6000 square feet.

Facilities

Breakfast cafe open weekdays Tuesday thru Friday from 8 to 11:30. Home cooked delicious meals, served with a smile. Entirely run by volunteers.

Over 6000 square feet of exhibits and permanent displays indoors. Amazing historic and retro displays of local businesses and other historical items. Special events also showcase fun and great history subjects.

Non governmental. Non profit organization, every dollar donated stays within our local historical society. 100% of donations! Everyone is a volunteer 😃

Kathy's 111 Trackside Cafe, located at 111 Carroll Street in Random Lake is open from 8:00am ~ 11:30am Tuesday through Friday, serving home cooked breakfast, homemade bakery, delicious coffee and cappuccino. The cafe is run entirely by volunteers and 100% of the profits benefit The Random Lake Area Historical Society. Would you like to volunteer?
